"Can a photo tell a whole story?"

Topic

Photography is becoming an easily more accessible hobby, with advancing technology. We are constantly taking photos, posting them on social media, and documenting our lives. However, the question I asked during my street interviews was "can a photo tell a whole story?" I haven't quite decided which direction I want to take this, but I got mixed responses from my interview subjects. I wanted to continue these questions, and I even asked them if they use Snapchat, a commonly used social media app and all of my responses were yes. So then what makes a photograph worthy? Going forward, I think that some key experts that could be used are photography professors and professional photographers.

Sounds

The sounds in some of these interviews were overwhelming. I started in the Slane student center on campus and was met with the sounds of a basketball game, that consumed my interview audio. I then decided to move outside and was able to get more clear sound and only natural background sounds like the wind. However, the volume of my audio wasn't as loud or was too loud, so it was hard to find a good balance. In the future, put music in this I think I would just do something that is light, artsy, and instrumental.

Editing

This process was a little daunting at first, I was hesitant to not make serious mistakes.  The biggest issue I faced was trying to razor a specific clip of my audio. The thing that helped me the most was the "Move, Razor, Slip, and Time selection tool in adobe" video. It was so helpful to know that the Key R allows you to make quick cuts throughout your track (Russel, 2013). Once I figure out how to move those cuts around it made the process go much smoother.
